The advent of the Internet and technologies like Twitter do indeed represent a bold new day for an authoritarian fascist like Donald Trump. He will be able to continuously feed falsehoods into the minds of the general public in a way never before possible. In the past, dictators were limited to grand rallies and radio broadcasts, now it's a lot easier when all you have to do is pick up a smart phone and issue a tweet. From what I've seen so far, Trump will not hesitate to tear apart the country using his bully pulpit, in a way never before seen in history.
It's not just "the MSM" that should be responsible for fact-checking, it's you.

The media is required by their own standards to fact check before they spew the vomit that people like you chug down like candy.
The pundits and comedians can say what they wish. But the journalists who are supposedly "reporting" have a standard. If they can't follow it, turn them off. Or continue swallowing. Makes no difference to me.
The media is a HUGE reason Trump won. Intelligent people saw them for what they were and voted accordingly. Stupid people, not so much...
Funny that you should mention North Korea who has a leader a lot like our incoming..... whatever he is. They both like golf, they both have silly haircuts and they both think nukes are cool.
Like refusing to enforce our laws?
Like coming out against police at EVERY instance before knowing the facts?
Like forcing an unconstitutional healthcare product on the entire populace?

Like turning a blind eye and/or being complicit in Fast and Furious?
Like doubling the National Debt in 8 years?

Like having SWAT raid a Gibson guitar factory for bogus reasons?

Did you face the Trump Tower and give a Heil Trump straight-armed salute when you wrote that? You're not fooling anyone, we all know that Trump hates freedom of speech because today, he can't control it. Like any good fascist demagogue he will do his level best to squelch his detractors - I fully expect him to start identifying the "enemies of the State". The first step is to muzzle the press, they will be high on the list.

Trump is our next president. Suck it up and deal---just like those of us who didn't vote for Obama had to do. We didn't riot in the streets and destroy things. Instead, we got on with our lives.
