This election is starting to get scary as Hillary's desperate supporters try to use Obama's race against him. It seems like this strategy has been deliberated on for a while and it's now time to trot it out. Hillary supporter Geraldine Ferraro just said that Obama wouldn't be here if he weren't black. Hillary fans on this board have started to say the same thing, and aren't ashamed of it.

At least we get to see Hillary supporters' true colors.

From a campaign whose candidate is only here because she was married to a two-term president of the United States, this is pretty rich. Nepotism is the cornerstone of the Clinton campaign.

Maybe I am naive, but I just don't get the big thing about Obama being black.
It's not the first time we've had a black candidate.
It's *that* big a deal?
Is it the black vote they refer to?
Did Obama "steal" it from Clinton?
Fact is, no matter how you look at it, she is just not getting the votes--not from young people, and not from la-dee-da educated white people.

Should Hillary "reject and denounce" her?

yeah but the black candidate was supposed to make some noise in south carolina and then disappear as bill famously compared to jesse jackson; how dare this black upstart jump all over the bandwagon of a Clinton?

Female shrill and hispanic: it was bound to happen, when HillBilly dealt out the race and gender card

Why not? Obama canned his spokesperson after she made the "monster" comment. Oh, that's right we're talking about the Clintons and their hunger for power.

Here's a snippet of what Ferraro said:
Quote:
If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.
This isn't anything new for Clinton surrogates. There's a nice long list of such racialized quips, comments, and other forms of baiting. Now, don't expect to see this discussed on CNN, NBC or FOX News. But suffice it to say, the vast majority of Black media and Black blogosphere are well aware of crap like this. We're just going to keep letting our votes do the talking.

I don't understand why Ferraro doesn't think Obama would be there if he were a woman. It's a new "concept" to get caught up in too.

I don't think Geraldine Ferraro would have appreciated someone reducing her to a "concept" while she was running for Vice President.

Just keep in mind that Hillary is qualified because she has "35 years of experience" being Bill's wife.
