How well would Jeb! Bush have done in 2016 without the exclamation point on his campaign logo (as in, if it was Jeb 2016 instead of Jeb! 2016)?

Any thoughts on this?

Well his name is actually John Ellis Bush. JEB is an acronym of that and not actually any part of his real name.

Thus it's just JEB. "Jeb Bush" is incorrect.

Despite that, IMO, it didn't make one damn bit of difference once Trump came in and completely shook up the process.

Too bad the Democrats didn't have the same thing to get rid of their version of JEB, i.e. Bill Clinton's wife. Then again, the Democrat process is one or coronation since the Super Delegates decide who win regardless of the vote.

Jeb probably would not have gone anywhere. People are a bit tired of the same names over and over. He seems like a nice guy and was popular or is popular in Fl, but it takes more than that to win the nomination.

I don't think it would have made a difference. Jeb or JEB! simply wasn't going to win the nomination this go around. The people were sick and tired of the Bush family (as well as the Clinton family) and wanted something different. The real question for me is how would things have changed for Jeb if Trump wasn't in the race. I think that Jeb would've gone farther, but still would have fallen far short of the nomination.

Even without Trump I don't think this country was ready for another Bush.

Low Energy Jeb was the exact wrong guy at the wrong time in history.
People did not want another Bush or Clinton in charge.
L.E.J. would have still lost.

What is the point of, for instances?
I think of the Bushes as fine people, but their time has passed.

I still recall early in the 2016 primaries there were a bunch of lib posters here who insisted that Jeb would be the nominee. Among my conservative friends, I found very little enthusiasm for him. I posted that, but several libs insisted, no, it's gonna be Jeb. As I recall he left the race after 4 primaries.
