We are seeing a tremendous surge of early voting in this midterm election cycle. I suspect that some states have seen the majority of votes already cast. Meanwhile, the candidates are pumping out millions of dollars worth of last-minute desperation ads and soliciting more and more cash donations to (supposedly) influence the vote right up to election day. Many voters aren't listening -- their minds were made up weeks ago and they made their choices and voted. With the cost of running for office always increasing the strategy to gain voters will have to change because much of this eleventh-hour money is wasted. I haven't seen any recent estimates on undecided voters but there probably are not that many who will actually turn out to vote if they are still undecided.

Sounds like it's the candidates who aren't listening. Why are they withholding their campaign spending until the last day or two before the election, when they know many people have already voted by then and their votes cannot be changed?

With the rise in early voting, campaign strategists will have to consider playing the closing WEEKS of the campaign cycle differently in the future. Carpet bombing with their misleading ads and subterfuge will have to be front loaded earlier in the process.

A lot of candidate arguments have been messed up since day one. So no.
