Weren't the voters in the Panhandle able to vote today for the 1st time due to the hurricane?

Thats a big difference considering he only won by what, 60,000 last time.
I'm an independent now but was a registered republican that voted for the dem candidate for governor against Scott twice. For many of us that put state above political party there was a NeverScott attitude so party turn out doesn't always translate to votes for a particular candidate.

Florida politics is a strange beast. Many, many split ticket voters this year. DeSantis/Nelson or Gillum/Scott.

At the expense of many Floridians, it might be good for the whole nation to watch what happens when this fellow tries to enact tax-and-spend policies similar to California in a state with an economic base largely made up of fixed-income that is not outpacing the true rate of inflation.

Florida does not want a socialist leaning agenda for their state. The economy is incredible, so keep the republicans in place, no change is needed.
It’s highly unlikely he wins by that much if he pulls it off. It’s likely going to be somewhere between 0.5-2

Gillum is going to be a one term governor almost for certain. I would be shocked unless he acts very moderate once in office if he has any shot at all at winning in 2022. And as I said before I think Gillum might badly hurt the democratic candidate in the 2020 presidency of winning Florida

I think the hurricane will probably put Gillum and Nelson over the top.

He is proposing a 2% raise, and even after that it would still be below average.

Only Bay County was hit hard and mostly the east side of the county, the west side saw minimal issues. Now Trump did win that county 62K-22K but the 4 western counties had about 300K votes for Trump and they had little to no damage as they were too far west of the storm. Depending on how many evacuees were able to vote we will see but it may not have that big of an impact

If he wins, he will be up against a very partisan GOP State Congress.
