Ran across this interesting piece about how both presidential candidates are offering little specifics about fixing the economy.

Bad news about soaring oil prices coupled with high unemployment helped trigger a 400-point plunge in the stock market and even got lame-duck President Bush's attention long enough to tell us the economy wasn't good -- but the two men running for president simply ignored what some see as a looming depression.

I am not impressed with Obama's speech today. Is that all he has calling McCain an extension of George Bush? That is so predictable and weak.

I'm tired of the Yankees vs. Redsox rhetoric. Our economy is facing serious problems. The average Americans are talking about high gas, food, falling home prices, job losses, etc., and these guys running to lead our country appear to be as clueless as the current president.

What in world are the rest of our elected officials doing? Nothing but pointing the fingers at each other.

Both parties are tired and predictable. We need a REAL third choice! And no I'm not talking about a nut like Nader or some radical Libertarian who wants to erect a fence around their property and hoard all their money as the rest of the country lives out a scene from Mad Max.

Our economy is OK. Not great but OK. No recession, no depression. Quit being a worry wart! Besides a little bit of pain is well worth seeing the Republicans rejected, ejected, beat, stomped, crushed, pulverized in November.

I saw the same peole panic in the 70's and 80's. Some think that fear can make people accept thier political views which is why they spread panic. In the end they reach very few people and thse people decide for themselves.

The main thing is that these guys really don't have any answers to give. Even if they have big dreams of a better world, don't we all. It sure as hell doesn't mean our dreams are going to come true. They can't tell us what they are going to do because the real brains behind all these politicians haven't told them yet. And I am sorry but I don't think people are overreacting about the current state of our union. The price of everything is going up while wages stay the same. So what if you raise the minimum wage fifty cents. After you raise the price of everything else to compensate the little guy is further under than he was before. And how about the people who don't make the minimum wage. They are still having to shell out more money for their needs and they didn't get a raise. It is a lose-lose situation for the regular people and a win-win for the corporate giants who run this country. So who cares what position these guys take on the economy, the war, or anything else. We all know they really aren't the ones making decisions in the White House.
