Dorgan just announced he isn't running for re-election. I don't know much about North Dakota -- how were his poll numbers?

Rasmussen had him down 22%, Zogby (http://www.zogby.com/News/ReadNews.cfm?ID=1772 - broken link) had him down 19%. He read the writing on the wall. His support for Obamacare torpedoed his chances at re-election so he bailed.

He had no chance, his vote on health care sealed it, our Republican Gov. Hoeven is on his third term and will be the next senator of ND.

Why Hoeven is unstoppable, the state has a budget surplus of over a $1 billion and I think the lowest unemployment.
