I don't understand the tie in with RFK and Obama (except for the threats part). I think she was trying to say that her meddling husband and RFK didn't essentially wrap up their campaigns until late in the primary contest. Therefore she may have been trying to justify reasons for her to stay in it. I am only assuming this and therefore wouldn't be surprised if her remarks were more sinister in reality. Regardless what she meant the comments about assassination in the midst of an election campaign were very inappropriate.

And it's even more inappropriate at this time, just days from a gathering that promises to be as tense as the Chicago Convention of 1968. That reference was a huge mistake. If something violent does happen to Obama in the next week or so she could be held responsible for suggesting the idea. Maybe not legally responsible, but responsible in the eyes of the people. She needs to cool it or she's going to ruin her career.
