Maybe the whole recent re-stirring-up of this issue is a Pavlovian attempt to get conservative voters back to the old solidarity of 2004.

I dont live there so I cant really guess, though.

But with the supreme court up for change it turns into a national debate.

I seriously think that most Conservatives don't care about gay marriage, besides the super-evangelical ones. Most Conservatives I know just kind of a have a "whatever, it doesn't affect me" stance on it.

I'm sure it'll stay a state-to-state decision.

Do you think it's being artificially hyped up? The timing just seems suspicious to me - election year again, and all.

I doubt it. Last night at the senior center they showed George Takei getting his marriage license. It was a hot topic for about 20 minutes, but nobody was talking about gay marriage--they were all talking about Sulu and how funny he was on Star Trek.

If you can't even get senior citizens who live in a small town in Georgia upset, I think it's a non issue.

I am a life-long Republican (raised Southern Baptist) who thinks marriage for gays is conservative.
