Latest Rasmussen has Obama still up 4% and has the following blurb:

Obama’s decision to opt out of public funding is likely to have little impact on his standing with voters. Only 30% support public financing of the campaigns and just 16% say the issue is Very Important to their vote. Today, McCain will give a speech in Canada extolling the virtues of free trade at a time when most Americans believe the North American Free Trade Agreement needs to be renegotiated. This position is far less popular among voters than the Republican candidate’s recent call for drilling in offshore oil wells.

The media focus next week will be on Hillary and Barack campaigning together. This will be forgotten by the general public very soon.

Most people don't really understand the issue so it will not be an issue.

Everyone knew it was coming and his timing as you say is perfect. Will be interesting to watch next week. McCain is posturing himself as saying Hillary is wonderful and should have gotten the nomination so come support me. Let's see what happens if she starts to slam him (McCain), how he fights back and still tries to woo her voters. Could be a tightrope. Hillary will be 100% pro Obama and 125% SMASH McCain.

STOMP
MCCAIN
AND
SINK
HIM

I'm sure this is a quid pro quo. Hillary's wants her campaign debt paid and Obama wants her fundraisers' support. As a Hillary supporter, my opinion is that Hillary is a democrat first and foremost, and she will not trash Obama.

Same as McCain's FEC issues. It takes too long to explain it.

Of course it will have little or no impact, why should it? The only ones complaining are people that never planned to vote for Obama anyway.

We who support Obama expect him to do everything possible, within the law, to win this election. That includes opting out of public funding.

Something is rotten when you go from his humble backgrounds to the spoiled rich kid with no personal debt and sssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooo much money to campaign with. What's with this guy? Is he being funded by some international terrorist cell? Is there a poster who can investigate this possibility and get back to us?

An issue too complicated or a voter too dull to understand -- there's the liberal hope.
