actually, a rural upbringing and education means the same thing in west virginia as it does in vermont. these states are known as that to someone who lives in austin. congrats, but I will take my first hand experience over your third hand experience. also, you can't educate someone to not hate. just thought I would let you know.

I lived in rural Vermont for several years. Putney, to be exact-- a town of about 2,000 where 80% of the residents (basically all white) voted for John Kerry. Where in rural Vermont did you live?
