Let us get attacked again and let's see how quick you want to put down our military.
I think we all made it quite apparent that we were not attacking our military, but rather the growing sentiment of militarism, which are two separate things. Try reading the posts in a little more detail before contributing.

McCain, Obama spar over Europe trip - Decision '08 - MSNBC.com
WASHINGTON - Republican John McCain's campaign on Saturday sharply criticized Democratic rival Barack Obama for canceling a visit to wounded troops in Germany, contending Obama chose foreign leaders and cheering Europeans over "injured American heroes."

Perhaps he should have visited the base but to say he chose foreign leaders, what kind of mind set by McCain is that?
Deteriorating?
The mind of a militarist?
His own self identity speaking?
His need for a war to be able to compartmentalize thinking and activities?
His frustrated political yapping?
His ishing he hadn't told Obama to go?
His world view that the planet is for our military to explore and develop?
His just McCain being McCain?
Indication of a tick tock moment about to occur

Or the many adapatations of possibilities that readers might present both pro and con?
Well, the start of the Iraq war marked the end of the American Republic and the beginning of the American Empire, and empires always base their identities on their militaries and ability to spread their influence. So I believe the answer to your thread title is yes.

He's more interested in sending more troops to deal with things that should be handled through diplomatic means. It's the one thing I agree with Obama on.

The Rep party wasnt like that before but now its a new party OWNED by neocons and they never saw a war they didnt love aslong as others fight it for them.

I subscribe to a strong military also but you know the actual fighting force/combat troops are a drop in the bucket most are some type support.

The military is tired its worn and taking in guys that should be in prison ESP in combat jobs .

The new GOP which is not like the old GOP uses the military or wants to for every problem in Middle East . Which is the problem as a strong military becomes a tired military .

Use it for defense if you must but not like the new Neocon GOP wants to use it
