Even I'm tired of this argument. There are so many reasons not to elect Obama President ......... no need to bring up something as silly as his eligibility because of his citizenship.

The Citizenship Clause in the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution states that:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside"

Birthright citizenship in the United States of America follows from a hybrid rule of jus soli and jus sanguinis. Under the American system, any person born within the United States and subject to its jurisdiction is automatically granted U.S. citizenship,

I wonder what is going to happen when someone runs for president who is an anchor baby. I personally don't think they should be allowed to run if their parents came here illegally, no matter what that F'd up law says.

That's all well and good for those with two parents who are US citizens. A different requirement for those with only one parent of US citizenship.

Obama was born in HI on US Soil so it does not matter if his parents were citizens.

Yes, let's merge these threads and then lock them....they are pointless.

Example: After all the proof, quoted laws, and plain common sense, someone still posts:

The number of parents has never and will never enter into it as some people only have one parent....Ozzie and Harriet families are gone , get over it.

The issue is dead, get over it and go find some more ridiculous straws to desperately grasp at....
