The point is, he has done a lot of positive things for this country and continues to work even now...these good works stand alone. If you believe in a God that dispenses judgement, then I am sure Kennedy will feel the weight of his past actions, as will we all.
Yeah, he's pro wind power but NOT in Martha's Vineyard.
Kennedy's stellar character was invoked all through his nieces speech. A little HONESTY on his character doesn't hurt.

The tribute was to highlight his accomplishments...and no one can take those away. It was not a "bash" Ted Kennedy tribute. If so, then they could have brought up that tragic experience.
Sort of like at a funeral individuals get up and talk about the positive influences the deceased had on them...and if there was nothing positive, then they stay in their seats and keep their mouths closed.

And I am sure the Nazis did good things in between murdering six million Jews. What a strange moral compass some people have.
