“Unequal Democracy,” by Larry M. Bartels, a professor of political science at Princeton demonstrates that since 1948 gross national product rose, on average, by 1.64% under Republicans and 2.78% under Democratic administrations. But more importantly, at least for us average folks, income inequality under Republicans was exacerbated under Republicans (big surprise). In short the economy does better under Democrats and a greater cross section of the American public enjoys the benefits of greater economic growth.

The Democrats are ALWAYS better for the eonomy than the Republicans. Even the rich do better. The Dow Jones has almost always went up MORE under Democrats!

lol. One word: Carter. And things went fiscally well under Clinton due to a republican congress. Congress controls the country's purse; comparing admins to economy is akin to comparing economic growth to snow accumulation totals.
