I've been long suspecting this, but I've got to ask...

Why are there so many more false rumors going around about Obama than McCain?

Just go to snopes and do a lookup on McCain versus a lookup on Obama. It's almost 2-to-1 the number of hits you get for false email rumors about Obama than you get back for McCain.

Same thing about FactCheck. Almost a 2-to-1 ratio of alerts about false comments about Obama to false comments about McCain.

Why is it that the Republicans try to pride themselves on "small town" values like honesty and integrity while they're out-slandering the other guy 2-to-1!?

Because they're panicked. They don't know how else to pull the nation away from voting Obama in this November. It's not going to work, and their desperation is getting really embarrassing (like the "flag" fiasco), but I guess when you're drowning, you flail your arms with all you've got.

Because that's the republican's modus operandi-one look no further than this forum.

Also because it works. It worked last time and apparently there are just as many stupid people left to buy it this time, even while they are losing their homes, and trying to figure out how to pay for their gas.

No, seriously... I want to hear from ProudcapMarine or Wingsofgold... someone who regularly posts on here for the conservative viewpoint why they condone this sort of behavior.

I'm in your camp, obsidian, but honestly, what sort of response do you think you're going to get?

Absolutely none, that's what kind.

But I'm hoping for something really creative.

With people like that (Along with the Hannities of the world), it simply begs the question: Do they really believe it? That's a tough one to figure out. I'd say most of them really do believe it, and fortify their belief with cries of "liberal media." Once you swallow that pill, then it's easy to accept everything else. Using a liberal world conspiracy theory as your anchor allows you to negate everything else. After a while, it becomes ego and pride (I've seen people die because they were too proud to admit the truth for instance) that create a schism between reality and fantasy land. Ego won't allow the poster to believe they have been duped. Pride won't allow them to check their own ego....and then you have people like you see here: Sanrene, WingsofGold, Proud Capt, Sunshine Chick and so on.

It's a type of death really, because they have surrendered to selfishness: Ego, Pride, Hubris, and laziness. Which is a horrible way to go through life.
