Even after Palin's speech is factored in, Obama is still holding a 4% lead.

Quote:
Support for Obama since just before the Democratic National Convention kicked off on Aug. 25 has ranged from 44% to 50%, while McCain's support has ranged from 41% to 46%. Whereas the race was initially tied at 45%, Obama pulled into an eight-point lead at several points over the course of his convention. It now appears the Republican National Convention may be helping McCain to recoup some of his losses, though with Obama's current four-point lead, the entire convention period to this point has still been a net plus for Obama. Well with the troopergate investigation looming over Palin, it doesnt surprise me McCain has been able to close in further.

What I hear on the radio an hour ago is that there is only a 1 point difference now.

Yes, and the polls don't show the full effect of the Palin speech yet.

By Monday we should see some damage as more people watch the speech, either on tv or through the internet.

This is a 3-day rolling average. Mon, Tues, Wed. Does not include McCain's speech.

Do you honestly believe McCain's sleepy speech will get a bounce? Dream on!

Obama's lead is disappearing fast. It has went from an almost 9 point lead, to only a 3.2% lead, with some showing a tie.

All that, and the full effect of McCain's and Palin's speeches haven't been realized yet.
