This map shows where Obama is definately leading. The blue states thats highlighted are strongly in the democrat column. This scenario gives ALL of the battleground states to McCain. After adding up all the electoral votes it appears that Obama doesnt need to win anymore states. Obama is at 271. You only need 270 to be president.

The only way McCain can win is to turn Pennsylvania or Michigan around and it doesnt look like thats happening.

Despite Palin's popularity, this is Obama's to lose. We may end up with a case where McCain wins the popular vote in November but Obama wins the electoral math

You have Indiana in the blue - McCain is leading there by 5 in the aggregate. Here is the CORRECTED map.

2008 Presidential Election Interactive Map and History of the Electoral College

You do realize the election is Nov 4th, right? Aren't you counting those chickens a little early?

Ive seen some polls where Obama is leading in Indiana. Evan Bayh is popular there and it could be one reason why Obama is doing well in Indiana.

The flaw with the electoral maps is that most of the state polls were conducted before Sarah Palin's speech last Wednesday. McCain got a huge bounce from the speech: North Carolina alone swung 15 points in his direction. Being that the winner of the popular vote has almost always won the electoral college, I would venture that we should focus on national polls. This is because the national polls are much more up-to-date.

Personally, I think it is ridiculous that a decent speech should provide such a huge boost, but that is a topic for another thread.

yeah, in Michigan people are more concerned with jobs, health care and reality, not lipstick comments and other bs.
