FNC’s Hannity & Colmes: 4,921,000 viewers (1,391,000 in the 25-54 demo).
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow: 1,716,000 viewers (635,000 in the 25-54).
CNN’s Larry King: 1,646,000 viewers (630,000 in the 25-54).
The only higher viewership this year for Hannity & Colmes -- 4.948 million -- was on Sept. 3. And what was happening that night? The nation was awaiting Palin's speech to the Republican National Convention.
WoW! Triple the viewership in the time slot. Super! She was really good, don't we think?

As infomercials go it beat most of the stuff on OVC.
The fact that so many tuned into in the hope of actually getting some real information from Sarah Palin shouldn't be so surprising don't you think? The real question that you should be asking, were their beliefs about Palin reinforced or altered?
I thought she handled herself rather well, though in fairness he wasn't a critical interviewer.
I think the interview had two benefits, it allowed folks who are interested get some more insights into her thinking, and it allowed her to get more used to being in the public spotlight in a less hostile environment (after the Gibson interview).
And before anyone defends Gibson as reasonable, his question about the Bush Doctrine was clearly over the line (and erroneous).
No surprise. Palin in very popular among the Right Wing, and FOX News is the mouthpeice of the Right Wingers - and being the only network to hold that position it will pretty much always draw relatively big numbers.
They even beat out "Wife Swap".
