A little gimmicky but pretty convincing. I'm more impressed that someone went through all the time to get this done and I especially liked "Eye of the Tiger" at the end.
If anything, I think the video posts a lot of questions. I never even heard of Fannie until the last 7 years or so. They just kind of exploded into the arena. Now all the sudden there's this ginormous financial mess? People can speculate if the video is "right or wrong" but at least it's an answer.
The entire premise is centered around ignorance. How does a Congressman "block" the president from enforcing regulation? Do tell.
Congress can block the president's legislation from getting passed just like the president can veto any bill that congress tries to pass. That's what happened today. The bailout plan was blocked by Congress even though President Bush wanted it passed. This is what we call a system of checks and balances. The very core principle of the American government.
While the President can directly propose legislation (for instance, the federal budget), he must rely on supporters in Congress to promote and support his legislative agenda. After identical copies of a particular bill have been approved by a majority of both houses of Congress, the President's signature is required to make these bills law; in this respect, the President has the power to veto congressional legislation. Congress can override a presidential veto with a two-thirds majority vote from both houses.
I'll quote from one of the replies in that video..
"Sen. McCain (AZ) saw this coming back in 2005. He warned us all. Obama saw it a few days ago. These same democrats laughed at McCain on this issue that laughed at Bush on the need to reform social security before it runs out. "
