Karl Rove wrote the other day that R & R before a debate is a great idea, which it is.

Unfortunately for the infamously anti-Obama columnist Steve Huntley and for the OP, people who are actually in Washington working on the bailout say with irritation that McCain is in the way and is using this extremely serious matter for political grandstanding. The Times and others quote people who are there as observing that McCain just sits there....
To quote one of the (almost UNIFORMLY negative) comments at the bottom of that blog post, "we all have different measures of what leadership is."

You and winter must not understand that not a single Republican was going to support the bill before them...you dems need us because you can't pass legislation on your own...that must just kill you that you need us...hahahaha...anyway...McCain was called by the liberal Paulson and sen. Graham and asked to come back to DC to help. Barry got no call because no one cares what he thinks in DC. McCain is our presidential nominee and therefore he is the leader of the Republican party and he came back to help make sure that the voice of the Republican party was heard and a new bill could be drafted that the Republicans could support. Many dems didn't support Paulson's bill either as it called for taxpayers to give $700 billion away....Republicans will only support a loan among other things. Make fun all you want....Clinton praised McCain....y'all must remember Clinton....he was your first black president....what a fickle group the left is to turn away so quickly from their beloved Clinton.

Not so fast...you can however keep bills from coming to the floor for an up or down vote....and you can still bury them or convene to promote a book that never made it on the top 1000 list.
