M.S. Bellows, Jr.: ACORN Office Raid Linked to U.S. Attorney Firings Scandal

and from ACORN itself:

ACORN: Article[tt_news]=22373&tx_ttnews[backPid]=12340&cHash=746062ca78

Could the fraudulent voter registration cards found be a plant by the GOP? I don't know.

Default Interesting

"For the past 10 months, any time ACORN has identified a potentially fraudulent application, we turn that application in to election officials separately and offer to provide election officials with the information they would need to pursue an investigation or prosecution of the individual."

"Election officials routinely ignored this information and failed to act. In early July, ACORN asked to meet with election officials to express our concerns that they were not acting on information ACORN had presented to them. ACORN met with Clark County elections officials and a representative of the Secretary of State on July 17th. ACORN pleaded with them to take our concerns about fraudulent applications seriously. One week later, elections officials asked us to provide them with a second copy of what we had previously provided to them. ACORN responded by giving election officials copies of 46 'problem application packages,' which involved 33 former canvassers"

Bull. ACORN is being accused in several states of voter fraud. Spare me the innocent act.

I don't know if they're innocent or guilty- that's what the courts are for- but I do think it would be very easy for this to fabricated by parties involved.

I don't think it's the 'smoking gun' that the Neocons are waiting for.

Like I said, make up your own mind.

ACORN is just trying to cover themselves. This goes back longer than this election does.

It's not fabricated, it's FACT. And it's not the first time. It happened in Kansas City in 2006 - ACORN again!

"The joint task force's raid on ACORN's Nevada headquarters may prove to be founded on solid evidence. ACORN may be guilty of terrible wrongs, though to date they have never been convicted of any. But in light of the politicization of exactly this kind of task force, in exactly this kind of case, against exactly this organization, in a swing state less than a month before the election, it's patriotic, not partisan -- wise, not jaundiced -- to want to look closely at the evidence and to question whether the seizure of ACORN's computers and files, the day after it announces a new effort to correct faulty voter registrations, is itself a partisan political effort to deny Nevada's lower-income, minority, and younger citizens their right to cast ballots on November 4."

From your source above:

ACORN officials in Kansas City said they turned in the four people who were indicted.

"We're very happy that they were indicted," said Claudie Harris with ACORN.

Harris said ACORN workers are paid by the hour and not by the number of voter registration cards they turn in.

"When you fraudulently defraud this, that gives us a bad name and what we're trying to do a bad name," Harris said.

ACORN officials said the four indicted have been fired.

Harris said ACORN workers check every voter registration card before sending it to the Election Board.

FTR, I'm glad they were indicted, too. I'm sure your company employs lots of people. If one of them is convicted of DWI, does that make your whole company guilty?

Instead of trying to defend ACORN the left should accept that they are commiting fraud and condemn them. But, I'll be happy to see the dems trying to defend ACORN as this grows, it'll help Obama lose.

Did they investigate further? It's like sacrificing a limb to save the body in a sense...
