Decisive Leadership You Can Count McCain Out On!

From Politico:

"Presented with 30 options for new economic measures, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has – at least for now – chosen none of them.

His campaign had been planning to roll out new proposals this week that would be aimed at restoring confidence in financial markets and encouraging investors to return.

On Sunday, hours before attending a big strategy meeting at McCain campaign headquarters, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told Bob Schieffer on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that McCain was planning “a very comprehensive approach to jump-start the economy, by allowing capital to be formed easier in America by lowering taxes."

But when the meeting ended, so did plans for a new economy push. The campaign now says no new policy announcements are planned. Participants in the meeting refused to say what happened."

They dont seem to have come very far from this high point: Holtz-Eakin: McCain may not speak for the McCain campaign on the economy.
On Wednesday, the Tax Policy Center released a report finding large disparities between Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) public economic proposals and his advisers' private assurances. After comparing McCain's public economic policies with the "measured options outlined by his campaign," the center concluded that McCain's public proposals "would cost an additional $2.8 trillion over ten years" above what the campaign's stated policies would cost. Responding to the report, Douglas Holtz-Eakin, McCain's senior economic adviser, argued that the proposals McCain makes in town halls do not constitute official policy.

At least Phil Gramm the Deregulatin' Fool is only an informal advisor now. +1!

The tax cuts for the wealthy which were passed by Bush have been PROVEN to have created a historically large deficit and caused a very negative effect on our economy. Let's get our behinds out of Iraq -- for a savings of hundreds of lives and $10 billion per month -- and then let's pony up the cash ($700 Billion) we need for this latest corporate bailout, then let's pay down some of our debt that's costing us millions in interest payments, and then we can talk about cutting taxes for the richest of the rich after that. You dont live on credit. Didn't your own mom teach you that much?

The Republicans have had 8 years to prove that their tax cuts stimulate the economy, yet the sad reality is that they have had the exact opposite effect. The proof is in the pudding. Sorry if reality bites and the tax cut myth for the wealth (aka Trickle Down Theory) has now been fully exposed.

McCain plans to do more spending that Obama. He even admitted in the last debate that he plans to tackle all the nation's problems at one time which means ALOT of spending not to mention the spending in the war in Iraq which McCain want to continue. He is no different from George W Bush. Also trickle down economics doesnt work. it has worked for the last 8 years. Its time for the middle class to get a break and that can only be done with Obama.

McCain will get money by applying the Lobbying and Ethics Reform - he will start in this area.
There is a LOT of wasted money in this area alone!!!!
