What is it with all the hate towards Christians on this forum lately. You that mad about Proposition 8? I can guarantee you it was a lot more than "those crazy Bible thumpers" that passed that amendment. All you are supposed to be open minded liberals, part of this "enlightened generation", yet you are still closed minded to anybody who might not agree with you.

Well, i'm a christian who goes to church and I support gay marriage. I think people should be allowed to get married whether that be between a man/woman, man/man, or woman/woman. It's not hurting me physically so I have no problem with it. I know there are people who think it shouldn't be allowed because of their moral values and that's fine. I have no problem with it.

What does this have to do with the 2008 Presidential Election?

Can this be moved to the Religious forum or whatever...?

They should put up a 20 foot frence around all red(neck) states.

Lousiana votes red. Katrina.

Tennessee and Arkansas vote red. Gore and Clinton home states.

Kansas vote red. Obama's mama is from there.

g-man...I believe it goes beyond what you've described. Did you hear about the teacher who took her class to the gay wedding...it was my understanding, and correct me if I am wrong, without the parents permission. Some parents still want to be able to shield their children for some things till they feel it's appropriate to tell them. They don't want schools teaching the gay/lesbian lifestyle to their kids. Also, it would eventually affect what churches can actually preach from their pulpits. If you are trying to teach the Bible, you want to teach the WHOLE Bible...not skirt the issues that may offend someone, who may turn around and sue you because they consider it hate speech. There is more to it than just letting them get married.

It's not hate towards Christians. It's an inability to understand why Christians (some) are so intolerant of those who are not like you.

Yes, liberals tend to be "open minded". Like that's a bad thing right? I'm not being close minded to you. No hate here. Just trying to understand what makes you want to go out of your way to enforce your beliefs on someone you don't know. Not very accepting of others is it?

It isn't about people who disagree with you... whether we should drill offshore or not is something to disagree about... Taking away and promoting the taking away of people's civil rights is something totally different

Its like asking people to be open minded and accepting of people who are NOT open minded and accepting....
Perhaps we should all be open minded and accepting of the KKK and the taliban... etc...
Your attempts at trying to make the liberal agenda hypocritical is nothing but trash and a smoke screen...
Most Christians are good honest people... brainwashed and self-righteous in their efforts...
The people I have a problem with.. are the people who run these churches and spoon feed the masses this hate.. and tell them it is from god...
If there is a hell.. I hope they rot in it forever... I get to where I walk by a church and it makes me want to puke
