Some Missouri Counties' Registered Voters Exceed Population | KSPR News | Vote 2008

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - More than a dozen Missouri counties have more registered voters on their rolls than they do voting age adults.

Topping that list is St. Louis County - Missouri's most heavily populated area.

Interesting. I was watching the Kansas City news this morning and they were saying what was required to prove identity in Kansas and Missouri. In Kansas if you are first time voter you have to have a Kansas driver's license or other ID with the same address on it as is showing on their list; if you have voted before you don't have to have an ID (and I don't like that either - I'm taking my driver's license just in case). In Missouri you can use an out of state driver's license for ID. What the heck? If you have an out of state license, doesn't that mean you don't live in Missouri and shouldn't be voting in Missouri? SOS, Missouri - Voting ID Requirement

Are there other states where you can use an out of state ID as your proof of identification to vote?

From your link:

"Election authorities in St. Louis County and elsewhere say they are not concerned that their counties still have more registered voters than eligible residents. They say their voter rolls appear high because they include thousands of "inactive voters" - generally people who have moved but under federal law cannot be deleted from the rolls for several years."

And the problem is?

It doesn't say anywhere that they go by SSN. I have voted in Missouri before (not since the 80s) but I don't remember now how it works and it could have changed since then.

No, but in Chicago, dead people have been voting for years.

That's what they "say." Doesn't mean that's the truth...
