Yup, it's sad--every four years, it's the same, seems like I always end up doing a lot of eye rolling sooner or later with the confirmation hearings. It's not enough to keep Geithner from being confirmed, though, which I suppose is the important thing.
...but typical...seems like all of Obamas picks are people who couldnt get security clearance to work at Taco Bell..yet he still persists..

Oh no, not hiring an old college pal! Well that does it, by gum. The nerve, hiring someone he knows and trusts. If he isn't willing to hire a stranger who answered an ad in Craig's List, I say it's time to tar and feather him.
Apparently this is not the issue that the OP thinks it is. He worked for the IMF for awhile, and they didn't do taxes the way that is normal for Americans. When the problem was discovered, he paid the taxes with penalties.

Anyway, which "old college pal" would that be, certainly not Dartmouth, John Hopkins grad Geithner?
LOL, or it could be Michelle.... haven't you heard Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell accidentally announced she was a candidate for undersecretary of defense? Sounds like cronyism to me...
