Your post proves my point. Thanks--

Hey, I thought we were living in a post-racial world now. At what point will "equality" be equal? Why can't I wear a "Say it loud, I'm white and proud" tee shirt? Or be a member of the White Panthers? Because I'd be brought in for questioning as a white supremacist, that's why. Yet, all I'd be doing is celebrating my heritage. Supposedly that's okay.

We've elected an inexperienced, idealistic socialist as our president. He's half black. But the important part about his election is the half of him who's black? Hell, his ancestors weren't even slaves.

It irks me that all that matters is his race; not what he stands for. If he were a white guy with silly deluded ideas, he wouldn't have made it out of Chicago.
And thanks for proving for everyone just exactly what you are. A white victim of political correctness and reverse racism. Poor, poor you.

Go ahead and wear your racist T-shirt. Go ahead and claim that you will be victimized for it. Go ahead and believe the icredibly stupid thought that you will be "brought in for questioning." It's all about how hard it is to be a proud white person.

We've elected 43 white men in a row - but celebrating the election of a black man is an insult to you. Poor, poor pitiful you.

But who has more to celebrate in this circumstance; whites or blacks? Obama's election marks a historic first. It should be commemorated in style.

The fact is, Obama was born black, but raised white. He certainly hasn't lost track of his heritage on either side. Myself, I don't see the man as either. I see an intelligent, capable, pragmatic guy who's interested in results over ideology. I think he'll be good for America. And man, do we need some good leadership for a change.

The debate centers around the question, "Why."
What debate? The only people to whom that question occurred are the "white pride" crowd. Are you proud to be associated with them?

Whites have a legacy of segregation, subjugation and dehumanization to overcome?

Do you really believe any of this stuff?

And this makes a difference why?

Then how do you explain Reagan, Bush and Bush? They were certainly deluded, and their impact on the destruction of America is just beginning to be felt.

Hey it's great he's half black. Terrific! I don't care.

But he was the WRONG choice, has BAD viewpoints, and will damage America.

But he's been elected for POLITICALLY CORRECT reasons. Not for his socialist ideas. If people were able to look past his race and truly judge him for the kind of president he might be, they'd have laughed him off the campaign trail.

It's just as racist to elect someone because they're black as it is to reject them because of their race. Racism goes both ways.

I would LOVE to see "white history" celebrated more often, let's remember slavery and the genocide of Native Americans as our first foray into "White History Month", whaddya think?

Works for me.

Again, it's debatable what point you are trying to make, as my "big sister" lives in another state and has never visited this forum....

As far as the "irony being lost on you", I better explain: I meant that it is ironic you would accuse others of not paying attention.

Do you even know what socialist ideas are?
