I successful small business owner. Someone that is very in touch with the people. Someone that cares that America stays at the top.
That would be a pleasant surprise for a change. We've had nothing but corporate shills for many terms.

Funny how this was part of the reason why Obama was so appealing (less ties to status quo/corporate lobbyists), and also why he was ridiculed so much by McCain supporters (i.e. "Obama has no experience").

Is a proponent of school vouchers.
Is sceptical about man-made global warming.
Is Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Long-time supporter of Israel.
Never commuted any prisoner's sentence in his 8 years as governor.
Adopted Three-Strike Violent Felony Offender Act

Not everyone supports these things, as you may or may not know.

It is Jeb Bush. I thought if I said the hispanic person whose campaign he managed was Cuban, everyone would know it was him because they'd think of Florida. Jeb converted to Catholicism in the mid-90s. His wife is of Mexican descent and I'm sure is Catholic. He is in the Knights of Columbus.

I guess the point is he's liked by hispanics, He worked with a black activist on charter schools and according to what I read black people in the state liked him on education. If the seniors didn't like him, he would have never been elected to a second term. That's three big demos two of which many Republicans don't typically have in their corner. He's more conservative than his father and brother and he actually worked for a living in an assortment of businesses and was the state's Commerce Secretary before he ran the state as governor. So he's got the business experience and the managerial/leadership experience and the political experience. The hardest thing he will have to overcome if he ever decides to run for President is the dynasty tag. He's 57 so it doesn't have to be in 2012.

The Democrats call Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush's ideological heir.

I like him

We like both of them, I am just afraid of the Bush name right now and I am worried if they wait another 8 years Jeb will be past his prime.
