I will be moving to Eugene, OR June 2013. My fiancee already lives there and attends the University of Oregon but he only knows the college parts of town. I would love information about good places for newlyweds to live, we are looking at apartments/townhouses/duplexes. I would also love any information about getting involved in the fashion community. I am a Fashion Design major and have been unable to find any information. I know its not a huge community but I would love to be involved. So any advice about cool places to hang out, especially so we can meet other young couples like us.

I would encourage you to look into U of O student housing. We used to live there and it's inexpensive, close to campus and pretty nice!

I agree with sizzle-chest... if your soon-to-be-hubby is a UofO student it would make sense to live near the uni. You'll find that area is a lot of fun, anyway, and you'll be able to enjoy walking or biking where ever you need to go... lots of shops, places to eat, the fun Sat. Market (or it used to be fun... the past few years the area around it has been getting kinda grungy/skanky... but I'm hoping they clean it up soon... I've heard they are working on it...) Anyway... tons of affordable rentals in that area.

Fashion? Hmm... depends on what specifically you're into. We have quite a few local people here who do their own things and have shows and show their lines in larger cities. But it's all relevant to what you're into. My favorite local designer is sweet skins. It's comfortable, well-made, simple stuff that you can dress up or down.
