Please compare the following island countries:

Cape Verde (Northwest Africa in the Atlantic ocean)

Malta (Mediterranean sea)

The Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (Only the Turkish Republic on Cyprus and not the Republic of Cyprus on the southern portion of the island)

I am very curious to learn more about these places. Granted, I realize Cape Verde is African, Malta is a part of the European Union and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is diplomatically challenged. (Being unrecognized by all United Nations member states with the sole exception of Turkey)

To be more specific, I am eager to learn about which of these makes for a more idyllic vacation spot and which is the least expensive place to stay longer term. (Longer term as in a few months instead of a few days/weeks)

I would think Cape Verde would be cheapest as it's the least developed. It has some great music, but I'm not sure it's that great a place to visit.

In general, Africa is very expensive for tourists/travelers, way out of proportion to the general wealth of the people. I have found that to be the case throughout Africa, but I have not been to Cape Verde. Although Cape Verde would offer an opportunity to downscale and really rough it a lot cheaper.

Malta, I would, assume, would be at least twice as expensive as TNC. Anywhere that has the Euro is going to be out of sight in terms of costs and expenses. Malta likely more expensive than Italy, simply due to isolation and cost of shipped-in goods. TNCyprus prices possibly a little higher than mainland Turkey, but then possibly subsidized by Turkey, too, which could keep them down. I've been in both places, but a long time ago. Even in the 1960s, before division, the Turkish parts of Cyprus were significantly less prosperous than the Greek areas.

(As an example, Croatia, with the Euro, is much more expensive than Bosnia).

As a general expectation, I'd say the cost of visiting would be on a scale of 100 for Malta, 75 for Cape Verde, and 50 for Turkish Cyprus.

Seems long more people move to Cyprus/Malta than Cape Verde.

That being said, I'm quite interested in Cape Verde myself. Seems like a real interesting place, as like a little mini-Brazil!! Lots of beautiful people, and a love for music and dancing.

De Facto Recognition of Northern Cyprus seems to be followed soon by De Jure Recognition:

1. Northern Cyprus and Cyprus are TWO DIFFERENT MEMBERS of "European Billiard Federation" and "World Billiard Championship":

Northern Cyprus and Cyprus was matched in 2010 European Billiard Championship as two different countries and under different flags: Bayraklar yanyana

3. Yeni Bogazici municipality of Northern Cyprus became a member of International Cittaslow organization in 2013. See the "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" name and flag in official Cittaslow page (There is no member of Republic of Cyprus and hence "Rep. of Cyprus" flag is not waved in official Cittaslow page!):

In June 2004, Northern Cyprus became an observer member of Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) under the name "Turkish Cypriot State".[1] According to OIC, the settlement to the Cyprus Dispute is based on the INHERENT CONSTITUTIVE POWER of the Greek Cypriot and TURKISH CYPRIOT peoples, their POLITICAL EQUALITY and CO-OWNERSHIP OF THE CYPRUS ISLAND.

6. United Nations negotiations are to bring the entities of Turkish Cypriots (Northern Cyprus) and Greek Cypriots (Rep. of Cyprus) under "UNITED CYPRUS REPUBLIC". Northern Cyprus far supersides Cyprus in education. I am writing this as an extra proof to "NC has an increasing international acception".

20. There are many international organizations (Freedom House etc.) that classify the situation in Cyprus island as "disputed" and treat the statistics and data of the country of Northern Cyprus' completely different from Cyprus.

Yeah Malta and Cyprus are relatively similar to each other (both are Mediterranean European islands). Cape Verde is more different.

Cape Verde has almost no similarities with Malta and Cyprus, the main similarity between Northern Cyprus and Malta are a strong arabic influence in the vocabulary (Maltese language origin is sicilian arabic) (Turkish has a strong arabic influence) ,both countries are islands and both are on the mediterranean sea
