I've never even seen a Swedish restaurant, aside from Miss Maud. Swedish food, hmmm...cured herring, smoked salmon...lutefisk, lingonberries, Swedish meatballs?
Aside from Ingmar Bergman I don't see how Sweden even competes with say France.
Serbia (and Yugoslavia) actually had internationally recognized cinematography but then someone decided to make "A Serbian Film" which infuriated the government and contributed to slashing of subsidies for future projects
which I think was director's intention when he directed that film
