Some countries in Europe celebrate this day just like birthday and in some countries (like Poland and Greece) this day is even more important than birthday.

Do you celebrate Name Day in your country?

It used to be bigger than birthdays, but that´s a long time ago.
Nowadays I don´t think anyone cares much, but it is always appreciated when anyone remembers.

in bulgaria it's not bigger than birthday as you say...but yes there is such celebration indeed. People usually tell each other "happy name day". However no gifts exchanged unlike on birthdays. I am surprised this exists elsewhere! thought it's just weird bulgarian thing lol...

Name day... oh yes, in Italy we call it "onomastico". Nowadays really few people take it seriously. For example I don't remember which day my onomastico is...

We have Name Day in Norway, but it varies how much people actually celebrate it. I don't. Today (25 Nov) Katarina, Katrine and Kari all have name day. Tomorrow it's Konrad and Kurt.
