Just one more "should you review your ideas?" thread, the style of thread I like to create...

I noticed people tend to associate the expression "Northern European" to Anglo-saxon languages and Protestant religion, while the expression "Southern European" is more associated to Romance languages and Catholic religion.

So, a person who is a French-speaking Catholic from the region of Wallonia, in Belgium, is a "Northern European" to you?

Imagine a Catholic person from the city of Liege. Not hard to imagine, since according to this Wikipedia article, 68.4% of the population that lives in the territory of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Liège are Catholics:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_..._of_Li%C3%A8ge

Now, imagine a German-speaking Protestant person from the city of Bern, Switzerland. More than 81% of the population of Bern speaks German as first language.

Now, consider the latitudes of Liege and Bern:

Liege - 50°38 degrees North

Bern - 46°57 degrees North

Considering that, would you say the French-speaking Catholic person from Liege is NOT a "Northern European", while the German-speaking Protestant person from Bern is a "Northern European"?

I know this thread is not very relevant, but I think we can waste some of our time on irrelevant debates
