No, they already made a mistake by letting Romania and Bulgaria enter.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the EU is here to stay, maybe it will have another structure, maybe one or two countries will leave while others will join it but in the end it will not die, this project went way too far to fall. I love the European Union, while Schengen is a failure the concept and all the cooperation and friendship it brought is so valuable.
The EU will be alive and well in 2025, maybe with Bosnia, maybe not.

They needed a land link to a highly valued member state, so it made sense at the time.

Why is that a mistake? These countries are European.
Of course the Gypsies are a problem, an annoying but I also met ethnic Romanians and they're good people, definitely their place is here in the EU.
As for Bosnia there is no risk of massive invasion from a country with 3.8 million inhabitants having one of the world's lowest birthrates, plus they're definitely in Europe geographically.

Bosnia is a great place. I wish they can enter the euro and that everyone will benefit from it.

Bosnia is politically and economically unstable. I can't see that changing anytime soon.

Why Schengen is a failure?
