Another thread for French and British nationalists desperate to show which one is best. Not realising that there are millions of other cities on the planet where people live happily and have no necessity to move to either Paris or London.

Did someone say la la land? Look at you using wikipedia as a source (which anyone can manipulate) showing an incomplete estimate table of 2014. More than half the cities don't even have figures and even according to that table in PPP London is above Paris. This is not a reputable source also it takes into account met areas which differ city to city.
Try again mon petit chouchou.

i m not gonna develop something that Google can provide, i m lazy.
Now believe what you think about Paris, but hearing you saying that french people always wave their little tails when they hear 'London' is quite funny , but your reaction shows that you are not acting better at all, a little bit high on your horses.
Anyway, F18, people are just answering to a thread that was open by survivingearth...you are free to be smarter than us and not read it...
I m saying that due to its lack of financial power, Paris is behind London, but on a good wave anyway and can equal London if Brexit turns bad in long run -which is not sure... but a possibility -.
Well apparently Paris and London aren't on the same league at all, which is hard to believe outside of the financial sphere.

Yes, very true. We can't care less than about London. Even considering Paris most french people hate that city and prefer living in cities like Bordeaux, Nantes, Rennes, Montpellier or Toulouse.

And most Brits have similar feelings towards London.
The problem with France - and this is what hurts Paris as a global business center - is that government is far too interventionist and far too centralising. The technocratic traditions of French society and French government are not attractive to international business.
With French Corporation tax at 33% and UK Corporation tax at 19%. the best thing that Macron can do to promote Paris and France is to start cutting taxes.
THIS IS A FAKE DATA!
Corporation tax are used to compare countries in terms of taxation but it is ridiculous. It represents nothing. People don't understand how economy works therefore they compare silly data.
State subsidies for companies in France = 130 billion euros a year
Corporation tax = 55 billion euros a year in France...
We can reduce our corporation tax to 0% by decreasing the amount of State subsidies and it is not going to make any difference...
Corporation tax in France = 4,7% of all taxes
To make it into perspective, employer and social contributions in France to finance public pensions = 380 billion euros a year.
What is expensive in France for a company is PEOPLE (employer contributions). A French costs more than an American or a British or a German for the same job even if we are more productive. It means that a French gets more than other for the same job.
But if we reduce employer contributions, how are we going to finance our prestigious way of life? Short hours, long vacation, low retirement age, one of the highest public pension in the world (a French person don't need to save money for pensions, to save money in private funds) .. etc ...
PS: Corporation tax will be at 25% next year in France
Except in all fields outside of finances, the ferrari is Paris...
with Bretxit, London will not stay long time a financial center. Scotland will soon leave... then Wales... The UK will end soon. What will be London without Europe and without UK??
The UK isn't going to end soon! Wales isn't going to leave the UK, and neither will Scotland. And London will always be a financial centre of Europe:
London is a global mega-city with no equal, except New York. The likes of Paris are not seen as credible threats, sorry.
This paper is enough to temperate a comment like this.
It's a British paper made by the British gov.
