I still get carded, but I find it kind of annoying. I know it can be flattering, but the last time I got carded was when I was buying a lottery ticket. I know I don't look 17. I'm 27, and I can understand for bars or maybe if I smoked (I don't) for cigarettes, but not a lottery ticket.
No, they aren't but they are doing their jobs. Can't blame them for that.
Yes you can. No one forced them to take the job. Any idiot that cards me gets berated by me. If you are too stupid to tell someone that is in the late 40s is well over the age of 18 or 21 then your are too stupid to be treated with any respect. Also, don't give me the "they're just following orders" crap. If you don't being like being made a fool of yourself for a minimum wage job then find something else.

When i was a server at a local steak house it was mandatory that everyone ordering alcohol have their ID on them. If you ordered a drink we had to see it, check the date, and confirm that you were over 21 regardless of how old you looked. If we didnt we lost our ABC server permit, lost our job, and had to pay a fine of up to $10,000. So I followed the law to the letter. I didnt care if you were my best friend or a little old lady; i carded you.
