I was getting a pedicure the other day and needed my brows done so just had it done there. I usually get them threaded or tweeze.

I guess this was 3-4 days ago. My skin is raw!

Never again!

Do you immediately shower and then moisturize after a wax? I read that doing so after shaving soothes your skin and erases the itching sensation. Also, I recommend using a soft towel as opposed to a rough one while drying.Additionally, do you have any allergic reactions to any chemicals.

My sister and I tried home waxing at home for our legs years ago. I remember we both had areas that were more sensitive then others to the temp and the pulling. I cannot imagine doing on my face which is far more sensitive then my legs are. I am sorry you are going through that - it must be painful. Perhaps a topical steroid cream would sooth the area.

If you use retinol/retinoid products at all, then you shouldn't ever wax. I know that's not much help now, and sorry for that, but maybe someone else will benefit.

No need for me, I like real eyebrows and eyelashes. No pain required.

I am not taking any of those medications. I will say that my skin is sensitive. I did not shower when I got home, maybe 3 hours later and I am not rough with my skin when I dry off.

I have real eyebrows but I have been pretty sick and in and out of the hospital and they turned into caterpillars.

Real eyebrows. Real eyelashes. I do not wear make-up.

I was just wondering if others have had the same reaction. I have done it before but it seems worse this time, for sure. That is why I prefer the threading. I will stick with that for sure.

I have just applied some witch hazel and it calmed it down a little.

Sounds like the wax may have been too hot.

I get mine done all the time. I have some redness for about 20-30 minutes afterwards but that's about it.

Makes me wonder if I am having some kind of other allergic type reaction to something else. The day is was done, it was pretty red and bumpy.

Maybe it was something they wiped on after the waxed your brows?

It could be. I just know not to go back there for that anymore. They do a great job on the pedi!
