Not if you sew. Pressing is a requirement in sewing and quilting. My Maytag cordless steam iron is almost as important as my sewing machine.
Ironing while constructing something is a completely different animal than plain ironing. I have sewn for 60 years and i remember the days when I had the iron on almost all day. But ironing an already assembled shirt is no fun to me. I hate dodging buttons, working around pleats (women's clothes) and narrow sleeves (even with a sleeve board). DH is retired now and I haven't had to iron anything of his in ages. The last couple of years he did all his own ironing anyway. Then he said "Don't buy any natural fibers for me. Ironing is a bear."
I just thought it is interesting how no iron shirts get that way.
I buy the wrinkle free not to avoid ironing, because I do iron them, but because they still look good after wearing them all day. Also, many style I like only come in wrinkle free.
My husband is military, and irons more than I ever will.
