When’s the last time you thought about wearing a brooch? If you’re under the age of 50, the answer might be never. But fashion’s making a play to bring the old-fashioned accessory back into the spotlight—or at least onto your lapel. Like so many trends, this one started at Celine. Phoebe Philo accessorized her SS 15 collection with hands made of porcelain that held coat collars closed.

I love brooches! I have a large collection of beautiful pins from my grandmother and others that I have picked up at estate sales. I wear them on sweaters and even sweatshirts sometimes--why not!
I'm 32.--but do have a penchant for dressing a bit different

Under 50 too and I have several brooches. I have a lion, a fish, a Siamese cat and a couple of holiday ones. I used to wear them on scarves or a jacket, but now that I live in FL they don't get out too much. They aren't super big, but I guess they are different because I always got compliments when I wore one. I used to work in a very corporate environment so I guess that was my way of spicing up the work wear. The Siamese cat is my favorite. I got it at an art show and it is hand painted. The fish is cool too because it is made of different colored pieces. I need to find an excuse to wear these soon.

I love brooches. My grandmother had a stocked dress-up drawer, and one of my favorite pieces was a black and "emerald" filigree pin. A brooch on a sweater or nice coat looks so pretty.

Despite that, I don't think I own a brooch!

Christmas 2013: My daughter comes home and goes through her grandmothers costume jewelry, taking all the brooches. She was 26 at the time.
So yea, they are back in fashion.

How about cameo brooches? I have one that belonged to my g-grandmother. Its white gold, with a diamond in the middle. I always felt it was "too good" for everyday wear and just never go to "fancy events. Its also rather big. It has a bale so you can wear it as a pendant, or as a pin. I'm leary the pin is too big and would leave a hole in the material.
