Last night I watched a movie from the 40's and some of the clothes were breath-taking. Joan Crawford must have just hit it big with the padded shoulders because I noticed on several of the outfits. Oddly enough, they looked better than the 80's versions.

Some other great periods of design from the 40's - 60's and
one of the best was Edith Head.
