I much prefer baggy jeans for the same reason the OP states. 10 years ago, they were much easier to find. Not so much anymore.

Aren't the baggy jeans called Relaxed Fit?
That's what my Husband wears so he has a bit more comfort.

Original Poster: Congratulations on deciding to wear what you like and technically, you are somewhat interested what the current trend is or you would not have done a search on the internet....

Baggy and relaxed fit can be two different things.

yeah. there are tons of different cuts and fits with all kinds of in between.

there isn't just "skinny" either. Super skinny, skinny, slim, but then you have slim or skinny through the thighs but straight leg. or slim through the thigh but slim/tapered leg as well as the variations of where the sit on your hips etc.

Depending on whether I am at work (dress pants or suit pants) or casual (chinos, cords, blue jeans, colored jeans, etc.) I prefer different types of fits. I'll go very slim on my blue or grey jeans, but more slim straight on colored jeans, cords, and chinos. For work I'll go for more of a straight but very tailored look.

So given that, I'm sure peoples' definition of "regular" or "baggy" or "relaxed" are all over the board! haha

I don't care for the look of men in very slim-fitting jeans, nor do I think the elephant-leg skater jeans that were being sold when I was a college student in the late 90s are the way to go, either. Just a neutral, straight-legged fit that's not hugging anywhere in particular.

Oh, and my husband knows my feelings on his "jorts." But, hey, if he wants to wear them, he wants to wear them. I have noticed that he's really mostly been wearing his khaki cargo shorts, though, and eschewing the denim.

One interesting correlation I have made is that underwear choice also plays a factor with guys. I pretty much have exclusively worn boxer-briefs for a long time so the slimness or tightness of my jeans is really a non-factor...People make a big deal about 'how are those fitted jeans comfortable for guys!?' but if I'm wearing athletic boxer-briefs it's the same fit "there" whether I wore baggy or skinny really to me.

I'm guessing that most guys who prefer baggy pants for comfort also wear boxers or something because it would be strange to wear stretchy/athletic boxer-briefs but then prefer baggy jeans purely for comfort there.

Oh, those were the days...! Back in college, Levi's Silver Tab "baggy" jeans were my 'skinny' jeans. And I wasn't even a skater. I held on to a lot of those pants long after my waistline expanded irrevocably beyond being able to fit in them again. I finally donated the last of them in a clothing drop last year during some housecleaning.
