I have been telling my dh how much of a minimalist I am when it comes to hair (cutting/styling/coloring), makeup, and nails...about how much do the rest of you budget for those things?

Very little, I am a minimalist, as well. I'd rather spend the money going to lunch with my daughters or something.

About $35 each month. The most expensive thing was the haircut at about $20 each month, I normally go 5 to 6 weeks at a time and sometimes it's $20 and sometimes $25 so I'm probably over-estimating that. That includes shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, gel, mousse and leave-in conditioner (all those things last longer than a month for me). And the only make-up I wear is foundation which I pay $10 and it lasts me at least 3 months. That's probably an over-estimation, but it's the best I can come up with.

Too much lol right now it's $175 every 6-8 weeks because my hair is colored/highlighted. Nails are $30 every other week. Makeup, I'm not sure, most of my stuff is from Sephora/Ulta but I only buy what I need so I don't have a "fixed" price.

With tip, about $75 for a haircut 6x/year, coloring (at home, salon products) $12 every 8 weeks, shampoos and conditioners $75/year guesstimating, other hair products & accessories $75/year. Pedicures with tip $35 every 8 weeks, I do my own nails, so remover, polishes & related $40/year. Makeup, gee......$80/year for mascara and mascara primer, $10 blush, $10 eyeshadow, $15 eyeliner, $20 brushes for makeup, $300 face & eye serums & moisturizers & remover, $10 lipliner, $15 foundation, $20 concealer & highlighter, $60 lipsticks

So all that is a little over $1500 per year (and that doesn't count stuff like everyday body lotions, razors for shaving pits & legs, facial cleanser, etc., that probably all together runs another $100 per year)

My friend has a hair salon in her home and she does my hair every 5 weeks or so for $65. I do my own nails. The most money is spent on cosmetics, especially skin care. I probably spend at least $1,000 or more on skin care and makeup; more if I have several massages and facials.

Wow. I guess I *am* a minimalist! I get my hair cut about 5 times a year for 20$ each time, including tip. That's it. Nothing else.:-)

Time or money?

Five minutes at night to wash and moisturize my face. Throw the curls into a pineapple.

Morning is maybe 10 minutes if I put on make up.

Moneywise, I buy good products, which is part of the reason make up application is so quick. Highly pigmented products make it easier to apply in a minimal amount of time. My hair is naturally curly, so wash and wear but I do spend more than the average woman on "shampoo" and conditioner and my twice yearly cut in NYC is about $300.

Oh, and I don't get manicures or even use polish (it is really bad for you). I just file and buff them myself.

Monthly? Uh... up until last week it had been three months since my last visit to my hair stylist. I had a trim, my roots bleached and tips lightened. I think I spent $80?

Oh, and I got my hair cult a couple weeks ago. That was $32. I *may* buy a makeup item once every few months, if that. I don't own a lot of makeup.
