Exactly, from the cop who whined that Starbucks wouldn't let him use the bathroom to this. Every slight has to be reported to the world now.
You have an issue with a store or a restaurant, address the management.
Would this woman feel justified if it cost someone their job?
As stated in one of the links in the thread the woman specifically did not want the woman to lose her job and was sharing her story as a way to spread awareness. Not everyone with a POV is an attention seeker. Not everything that goes viral is about self promotion. Sometimes people really are just trying to empower their daughters. Social media can be a tool for discussions, spreading awareness and education and not just cat videos.
If you took your daughter to get clothes and the woman suggested a better bra and you said no thanks; if the sales person went on to make comments about how saggy your daughters breasts were you wouldn't be offended? What if they continued to argue with you about your daughters saggy misshapen breasts while you were leaving the store in front of your daughter? That wouldn't bother you?
Yes, exactly, this is horrible. But I would say no no to 13 year old for that dress.. I would not wear it by myself either, too open, lol
And it is terrible to read how some people are bugging her body , everyone looks what they looks and different body types looks different and that is how it is Like or not, just keep it inside you

Just FYI, some of the other articles posted after the OP make it clear that the daughter had no interest in the dress and had in fact picked another more age appropriate dress. She just tried it one for her mother.
The same thing happens to many women who have been raped. Even if some people don't believe them, or their is no conviction, standing up and saying "what happened to me is no ok" can be empowering for many people.
Wow... Are you really comparing this girl to rape victims?! As if being talked to by a retail worker is such a tramautizing event.
A sales associate meantioned spanx in front of a 13 year old. At the end of the day, not a big deal and certainly not something that requires some social media crusade. The woman was just doing her job.
I never shopped at a Dillard's in my life until I moved to the Kansas City metro; there are three here, on both the Kansas and Missouri sides. I was in the one in Overland Park, KS the other day to buy my husband a robe. This occurrence also took place in Kansas, as well, but Wichita, versus the KC metro.
According to Dillard's entry on Wikipedia, they have 330 stores in 28 states. I'm assuming that this means, yes, people still shop at Dillard's.
My observation is that the US (as well as England) has a culture that is far more sensitive about weight than anywhere I've ever been. In parts of Asia, people will literally directly tell you that you're very fat/skinny/whatever, but there's usually no malice behind it. It's just seen as a fact and spoken as such.
Barring legitimate medical conditions, anyone can lose or gain weight. It's not who you are. It's just a body stat.

No, if you read carefully, I am comparing the behavior of adults where they blame girls for what others do to them. The only time I mentioned victim blaming was in the context of the publishing of the photo online, which actually is s separate and distinct issue than the clerk being an insensitive and belligerent prat.
Finally, it is wildly telling that you persist in ignoring both the mothers and daughters accounts of what happened and instead insert your own fictional storyline. It is one thing to say that you are reserving judgement until we hear from the sales clerk herself, but to continually make up your own scenario until then suggests you have your own agenda.
