I use the delicate setting on my washing machine. I bought it online so if it seems I can "see" through it when trying it on, I will return it back to Kohls in the store.
I do have to laugh here as I think back. Thirties is very young. Wear what you like.
When I graduated from college at 21, I cut my long hair into an ultra short cut. I thought I was too old to run around with long hair.
Fast forward. I'm nearly 64. I last cut my hair in December of 2014, I think. Well, I have cut it since then at times but by myself. Hack hack. Worked at three years old/why not now? I pull it back anyway so who notices. If I could decide on how I want to wear it, I would go get a haircut but I really don't know and I think haircuts are terribly overpriced. If I go really short, it has to be cut constantly and the cost is absurd.
I think it was last summer that I decided not to wear a two piece bathing suit. Not so much weight but I felt like my skin isn't as neat as it once was so I didn't want to wear it anymore. I really didn't want to wear a one piece either. So I can of did a little top over suit bottoms and it was ok.
I saw recently certain things you can't wear over 30 or 40. And I thought, ya know, showing too much cleavage (and far more today) is tacky at any age. Young girls running around falling out of their tops is not real smart and cheapens you. Maybe I was lucky always being flat except when nursing and then generally the baby attached to my breast and his/her blankie took care of too much showing. A lot of the clothes they say are ok if you are 20 to 28 but desperate if you are older. Maybe looking like a meat market in your 20s isn't desperate looking in their eyes.
Wear what makes you feel good. It will change over time - sometimes from one month to another. Get in touch with what you like now and don't wait for it to dawn on you after too much effort was spent worrying about it.
I like the skirt and I can see it with a cute cotton sweater. But for pete's sake, get a slip under it. Growing up, everybody wore slips. For one thing, if you were wearing wool, it was a buffer between your skin and the itchy wool. If it was a lightweight material, it prevented the ugly see-through look when you stood with the sun or bright lights behind you. Even if the skirt is lined, a navy blue half slip will go a long way toward giving you that finished look.
I think it's cute. I like the color. Wear a slip under it, though - looks a bit transparent.
hahaha....good idea but no one wears slips or even has one anymore...I'm in my 50's and haven't worn one for 20 years. I suppose in a pinch you could wear some lycra shorts?
