Hi
I want to make my own face cream with Coconut oil, vita E, zinc oxide/Sunscreen. I put it in my vitamix but its too watery. Have you made your own Beauty Products at home? How do I get the whipped/cream consistency to it?
Thanks!

You'll have to store in a cool place so that the coconut oil doesn't stay liquid.

True people use lard, and other stuff you wouldn't think of.
My skin responds great with Coconut oil so thats why I want to stay with it just in its whipped form.
I've read that using an immersion blender is best for the job but I dont want to buy anymore equipment.
There are plenty of Vitamix Skin Care recipies but I'm looking for pure whipped coconut
Looks like I hafta hand whip the oil. Grrr

Add the above to raw cocoa butter (Ebay is best source) and melt them together in a microwave for a minute or so. Stir to mix and let solidify.

Cocoa butter is quite hard when solid so you could use (raw) shea butter instead, or mix them to get the soft consistency you need.

Go to making cosmetics.com ( fix the link ) and read their recipes. Be careful with coconut oil except around the eyes unless you never break out. It's comedogenic. Fantastic for the body and the teeth though.

There's a company called From Nature With Love that sells all kinds of natural cosmetic/skin care ingredients. They also have a recipe database and resources. I also did a search for "whipped cream coconut face cream" and found quite a few YouTube videos on DIY hair and face preparations. Hope this helps!
