Plus-sized women continue to face many obstacles that their smaller sisters do not. Fortunately it appears that the world is changing (slowly) so that more realistic depictions of women are seen in the various forms of media.
While we've seen plenty of TV shows and movies featuring a "hot" wife and a lovable, chunky oaf of a husband...we haven't seen much change (I don't think) with regards to fashion and modeling for men. I'm not sure there's a Dove equivalent for guys. Basically taking naturally attractive men that are heavy and don't have washboard abs and putting them in major ad-campaigns with the intent to celebrate their bodies.
Is there any demand for this or is it something none of us even care about?
Quite frankly I don't think the need is there for men. The unfortunate truth is that for much of our history a woman's appearance has been considered a strong indicator of her "worth" and no one can honestly say the same thing about men.
But honestly, there have been historically more heavy men in entertainment than women. There still are heavier guys making movies. Heavier women are not seen by the men in control of the entertainment world as being desirable, so there are many fewer parts for them. I think the same about high visibility modeling.
