I am a mosquito magnet and I hate putting those toxic bug sprays on me so I decided to try Avon's Skin So Soft since I had heard that it helps to repel them. HOWEVER this stuff stinks!!! Most of the reviews say it smells floral etc but to me it smells like old lady powder smell!

Can someone chime in and tell me what they think it really smells like? I'm wondering if I got a bad batch or something.

This is the one I have.....

It's a very distinctive smell - I don't like it at all either.

Me either - and I don't like the idea of putting that oil on me that could transfer to clothes, furniture, etc.

Has anybody tried that bug doodad that you put on your arm or pocket?

Yes, no wonder the mosquitoes don't like it and keep away!

Ohhhh I wouldn't have made it the 5 years I lived in Savannah without Skin So Soft. Between the mosquitoes and sand gnats eating me every time I stepped outside and the horrible humidity drying out my skin... I would have become Bubble Woman... I like the fragrance and buy it in the largest bottle they carry. Its the only thing that keeps my skin from flaking. I couldn't figure out what happened to my skin it was so dry and itchy. After 2 different Dermatologist telling me the humidity was the reason I started researching something that might help - other than high priced Dermatologist recommendations. I realized my legs and arms were looking and feeling better after I'd spray SSS when working in the yard. the light bulb went off! and I haven't looked back. Even this past winter when it was cold here in Charlotte my skin wasn't an issue. I still get dry patches but lord I don't want to think about not using it.

I thought the same thing! I can't stand the smell. But I was brave and tried it anyway. It gave me a horrendous rash. I'm sensitive and/or truly allergic to many things so if someone is like me, use with caution.

I don't like it either. But it does keep mosquitoes away from me.

That's unfortunate for you. I'm quite sensitive to some products that are scented, too. Things have brought me out in a rash, given me a headache, or affected my asthma. You have to be careful sometimes.
