As I age (now 75) my skin has become dry. Is there any product you would recommend that has no fragrance or at least a manly fragrance?

I am thinking after shower type products or maybe even a soap versus a bath oil.

Thanks

Cetaphil products, cleansers and moisturizers, are fragrance free and very good quality. I cannot wash my face with anything but Cetaphil.

CeraVe are the same. Fragrance free, and not oily.

One dermatologist told my husband to use Dove soap in the shower. That shouldn't be too perfumey (is that a word?)

Whole Foods, food co-ops, and other health food/organic food stores (Sprouts, for ex.) sell fragrance-free skin lotions, many of which are also paraben-free. Parabens are an ingredient used in many lotions that some investigators have said lead to breast cancer in women (think of lotions applied daily to the face and neck). I get the Alba brand from WF to apply after bathing. You can get it in 1-gallon jugs, or smaller quantities. I live in a desert environment, so moisturizing is essential, and this brand does a good job.

Clinique!

They have a line of skin care products called Clinique for Men. Sold at better dept stores, like Macys, or online. All their products are fragrance-free.

I won't comment on which product but there are other tips to help reduce dry skin.

1) We all love hot showers however the hot water washes away body oils that help the skin to stay moist. Shower with warm water instead.

2) Fish oil. You can take a fish oil supplement to help retain moisture in the skin.

3) If you use a moisturizing product apply it after showering while your target areas are still damp. Do not apply when your skin is dry.

4) Harsh soaps will also remove body oils. Find a product that isn't as aggressive in removing oils.

All the above well informed posts are correct. The only thing I will add is: use caution using moisturizing products while still in the shower or tub with a wet surface -- slip and fall risk.

I have used Dove soap most of my life but not on my face anymore as it is way too dry now. They have a sensitive skin version that has no scent.

OP - I would moisturize your skin at night before bed to help with the dryness that comes with us aging. It may help prevent skin tears which occur so easily on older people but that's just my own observation. I lather up from head to toe every night when I get in bed. I cannot tolerate any fragrance and there are a lot of products out there these days that don't have any.
