Yep, I haven't purchased anything there other than workout clothing in years. It's very cluttered, all the clothing is drab dark colors, the styles are horrible, and it's just so disorganized. It's a shame because I used to be able to put together cute outfits for work, but now it's pointless to even try.
This is my impression also, at least in the clothing section. I guess the towels, picture frames and stuff like that might be okay but I tend to shop the sales at Belk for those things.
I just feel like I am back in the 1970s with ugly styles and drab colors I can't wear like muddy greens and oranges. I am retired and mostly stick to Bean and Talbots for any clothing I need at this point.
I was just at Kohls last weekend. We don't have it in Canada so I'm always happy to go when i get a chance. I didnt have the success i usually do, but i had attributed it to the fact that 5 tour buses full of cross-border shoppers and two school buses full of students had been there earlier in the day, so it was slim pickings for sizes.
I'll be going to a different location in early November so i'll have to pay more attention. The tour buses go to to the outlet mall there so maybe i'll have better luck.
I bought a few things, but as others have said, they do not hold up well at all. Even their "higher end" like Dana Buchman. One wash in cold water and it is faded -seams fall apart -- just poor quality. Rather shop the department store sales.
I went to the clearance rack and most things were 40$ and up.....
$40? On the clearance rack? At Kohl's? I don't think anything has ever cost $40 at Kohl's. They're legendary for having those fake sale prices, like, this is originally $50, but we're selling it at the low low price of $25 (and you can use your coupon for additional % off.) The thing never cost $50.
Last summer and fall I bought Sonoma capris and jeans. They look good. The only problem is they won't stay up; I have to keep hoisting them up. I have never had that problem with any other pair of pants. I could understand if I were shaped like a man and had no hips/waist, but that's not the case. They must use the same basic pattern for both because I have a problem with both the capris and the jeans. Maybe it works with particular body types and not others.
Other than that, I really do love Kohl's. They have the best sales and often when I get to the register things are even less than I thought they were going to be.
I was disappointed the other day, though, when I saw they had dishes on sale online for $79.99 for a 16 piece set. I went in the store to look at them and in the store They were $129.99 for a 16 piece set and the sale was buy one set get second set half off. I'm not sure why the difference between online and in store. It didn't indicate that it was an online-only sale. I didn't ask, but I didn't buy them because they didn't look as good in the store as they did online so I didn't want them anyway.
