For a while now, I have been dressing conservatively full time. I am talking about long sleeve collared blouses buttoned all of the way up, long, ankle length skirts, and a brooch or tie at the collar.

I love the look and feel of it, and I've noticed that I don't feel comfortable dressing down anymore, that I need to be dressed all the way up to feel right. I wonder if anybody else has ever gone through something like this?

You must live somewhere that doesn't get too hot.

When you mention needing to be dressed like that to "feel right," what happens if you wear something different? Are there other things you have to do in a certain order or a certain way so that they feel right?

Say if I wear a t-shirt for a day, I start wanting to dress back up again, and the next day I am back in my usual outfits. I dunno why exactly, maybe it's because I used to dress down most of the time, and I am just sick of causal outfits?

No, other than making sure every button is buttoned, and that my outfit is neat and tidy.

You sound a lot like you are going through a Diane Keaton/Annie Hall phase.

Do you feel that this look suits your personality?
Isn't it often considered that clothes 'make a statement'?

Something about your style of dressing makes you feel comfortable, or safe, or some other positive feeling. You might change or this might be your permanent personal style.

Are you getting feedback on how you dress?

I'd say that if it were simply a preference.

"Nor feeling right" unless dressed a very narrowly specific way, though, might actually be a flag for compulsive behavior.

I get a lot of complements, yes. It could very well become my permanent personal style.

If it is, it's better that it's this rather than running to the sink 1,000 times a day to wash my hands
